Once you go Mac, you can’t go back.
After much pressure from the rest of my team at ACS, I finally switched my full time daily operations to my MacBook Pro. I was dreading that it would be a hard move and that I would not be able to function efficiently using just a Mac. I had my all my tools that I was used to setup and organized on my PC — but everyone still kept saying Mac was the way to go.
I got one and am now absolutely in love. Mac’s make it easy to do everything especially if you make use of the cool applications that are out there. Below I have made a nice list of all the programs that get me through the day.
Firefox - with FireFTP, SEO for firefox, Del.icio.us installed.
Skitch, Snitter, Adium, Pages, Keynote, Growl
And the Macheist Programs that my buddy Phil Ryu throws up every now and than are really great too.
Apart from the cool programs, the Mac also seems to bring me inspiration and I like that — it makes me work harder through the day. Anybody else have similar experiences?

I told you!
Where da girls at?
yup
Welcome to the good side of the force.
I got a MacBook Pro last year and it’s pretty sweet. With mac ports it is a developers dream. I would recommend textMate for any developers out there, espeicall RAILS. For blogging and random writings I use scrivener. Both have a 30 day free trial.

The only thing that annoys me about the mac is the cool people. You know, the coffee shop kids with there damn french vanilla lattes that pay 2500 for the mac sign on the back of their laptop.
Yeah, I didn’t want to make the switch from PC to Mac, but now that I have I’m happy with the decision. It just makes sense.
I dont like macs. They don’t inspire me. I think they are a pain, dont work well with alot of stuff, and I can’t use visual studio on a mac unless I put parallels on there. I think if I had 1 finger for the one mouse button, and I liked to take peoples advice that are less tech saavy than me, I would probably then get a mac, but since I am neither VISTA ALL THE WAY! . I know you mac people wont like this post, but its my opinion, and I can go on for days about why a mac is not as good as a pc, But I do have to handit to mac for the aestetics and hardware package, its nice. But id install windows on the intel mac.
@Arthur. I agree with you to an extent that Mac’s aren’t for everyone. But my main concern is that if you give Mac a try and it works out — theres no going back. There are definitely times where I need to use my PC to access certain programs that I do not have on my Mac.
@Moe, Imran, Hiten, Nathan, Jeff — For Sure.
@Krutal - definitely, its like fords and Chevy, everyone has their preference. I may have been a lil harsh on the last post, but ultimately pc’s just work for me, I do like the hardware package macs have, and it has its advantages im sure. I can’t say I agree or disagree with the topic, ultimately, I probably just wouldn’t make the switch. Maybe if I did, I would spend alot of time making sure I figured it out before dropping it, but its similar to my car buying experience. I had a jeep grand Cherokee 4×4, i loved it, got a Nissan titan 4×4, loved it, but ended up trading the titan in for another jeep grand Cherokee 4×4, because for pure offroading the Jeep beat the titan hands down, altho they where both 4×4, and the titan had more power, the jeep is more nimble and gets me everywhere i need to go, with less hassle and alternate routes. lol, its definitely off topic, but i guess I just mean, eat whatever flavor you like. I like to debate, but don’t discriminate.
well, there’s no way that you wouldn’t like a mac, even if you don’t like the Tiger OS or Leopard OS you can install Shitty Windows…
I think that people should communicate, no matter where they do it – in real life or in Internet.
I totally agree with you. Since I have a Mac, I cannot work with a PC. It’s just so pleasant to work without problem…
